  • Eyelash extensions are synthetic or natural fibers that are attached to your natural lashes using a semi-permanent adhesive to enhance the length, curl, and volume of your lashes.

  • The longevity of eyelash extensions varies depending on factors such as your natural lash growth cycle, aftercare routine, and the type of adhesive used. Typically, they last between 2 to 6 weeks, although 3 weeks is the sweet-spot for maintenance fills.

  • Properly applied eyelash extensions should not jeopardise the health of your natural lash. When applying eyelash extensions, the length, curl and structure of the clients lash should be considered and the suitable extension should be chosen accordingly. This is why you should opt for a lash artist who offers hand-made volume as they can customise the extension on the spot to suit your natural lash.

  • Classic eyelash extensions involve attaching one extension to one natural lash. Pre-made extensions are fans which have already been made and are the applied to each individual natural lash. Hand-made volume involves creating fans of lashes by hand and applying them individually to each natural lash for customised loo

There are pro’s and cons to pre-made and hand-made lashes.

Pre-mades are time-efficient, the structure is consistent and are suitable for beginners since they’re easier for less experienced technicians to apply. However, customisation is limited with pre-mades, are less natural looking, do not last as long as hand-made and can be damaging if not applied correctly.

Hand-made lashes, known as “Russian Volume” lashes are customisable and allow the lash artist to apply tailored looks. Handmade fans can mimic the natural lash pattern more closely, resulting in a more seamless blend. They are suitable for clients with sparse lashes as well as those seeking dramatic volume. They are also long lasting due to the attachment style as every lash fibre wraps around the natural lash.

On the flip-side, hand-made volume lashes can be time-consuming since every lash is individually made. The craft also requires a higher level of expertise from the technician to create and apply handmade fans effectively. Due to this, it is important that your lash artist is chosen carefully.

  • The right style of eyelash extensions depends on factors such as your eye shape, desired look, and lifestyle. During a consultation with your technician, you can discuss your preferences and receive personalised recommendations tailored to enhance your natural beauty.

  • All treatments are cruelty-free using non-animal based products.

  • Eyelash extension patch tests are not typically performed due to the inconsistency in their results. Unlike certain hair dyes or skincare products where patch testing is common practice to check for potential allergic reactions, eyelash extension adhesives and materials generally have a low incidence of adverse reactions. Additionally, patch tests may not accurately predict an individual's reaction to the adhesive when applied to the delicate skin around the eyes.

Since the lash extension adhesive is primarily applied to the lashes themselves rather than directly onto the skin, the risk of a reaction is further minimized.

However, technicians should always conduct thorough consultations with clients to identify any known allergies or sensitivities and to discuss potential risks before proceeding with the application.
